Tie Access to Transparency Register to Stricter Conditions
Study: Legitimate Interest Must Be Proven
According to a legal opinion by The Foundation for Family Businesses and Politics, higher requirements should apply in the future for accessing data in the transparency register. "EU member states may not permit access without proof of legitimate interest," states the opinion by legal scholars Prof. Dr. Ralf P. Schenke and Prof. Dr. Christoph Teichmann (both from the University of Würzburg). Similar to access to the land register, the prerequisites should be met.
